About the role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented AU Business Accountant to support the financial operations of a private credit management company, associated investment entities, and a family office structure. This is a hands-on accounting position responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records across multiple companies, trusts, funds, and special purpose vehicles. The successful candidate will work across fund accounting, management accounting, reconciliations, investor administration, BAS/GST compliance, payroll, reporting, and family office accounting. The role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, organisation, and discretion, particularly when handling sensitive investor information, investment activities, and the principals' personal and family financial affairs. The ideal candidate will have strong Australian accounting experience, advanced Xero skills, excellent Excel capabilities, and experience managing multiple related entities with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities1. Private Credit Management Company & Investment Entities
Process day-to-day accounting transactions for the management company, investment funds, and associated SPVs using Xero. Record and reconcile loan drawdowns, repayments, interest accruals, management fees, and other fund-related transactions. Maintain accurate general ledgers and chart of accounts across multiple entities. Perform regular bank, loan, borrower, and investor account reconciliations. Process investor applications, distributions, and return-of-capital transactions in accordance with relevant fund documentation. Calculate and track interest income, management fees, expenses, and accruals. Maintain and update the investor register using Registry Direct. Prepare supporting

s, reconciliations, and working papers for monthly management accounts. Process accounts payable and monitor fund and management company expenses against budgets. Maintain records of loan facility drawdowns, undrawn commitments, and cash-flow forecasting information. Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for annual audits and tax return preparation. Monitor financial covenants and reporting obligations to lenders and investors. Assist with fund and investment reporting as required.2. Family Office Accounting
Manage day-to-day accounting transactions for family office companies, trusts, and related entities using Xero. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, investment accounts, and other financial accounts across multiple entities. Maintain accurate records of personal investments, property holdings, and other family assets. Assist in preparing regular financial reports for the principals and relevant stakeholders. Track and reconcile intercompany, related-party, and shareholder/director loans. Prepare appropriate intercompany and elimination entries where required. Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and expense management. Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, and other professional advisers regarding tax returns and financial matters. Assist with financial administration, including insurance renewals, subscriptions, utilities, payments, and financial record-keeping. Maintain highly confidential records relating to the principals and their financial affairs.3. Month-End, Compliance & General Accounting

sAssist with the preparation and timely lodgement of BAS/GST returns, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations. Process monthly payroll and maintain accurate employee leave records and entitlements. Maintain accurate financial documentation and records in accordance with internal policies, audit requirements, and Australian regulatory requirements. Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and ensure accounting issues are resolved promptly. Assist with financial reporting and analysis for management. Provide ad hoc accounting and financial administration support to the Finance and Operations Director. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, reporting, and workflow efficiency. Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience. Strong experience working with Australian businesses and accounting requirements. Extensive hands-on experience using Xero. Strong understanding of Australian GST, BAS, payroll, and statutory compliance requirements. Proven experience managing accounting functions across multiple entities. Experience working with companies, trusts, related entities, or special purpose vehicles. Strong experience in bank, balance sheet, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision. Highly Desirable
