Full job description

Our QA / Test Automation / DevOps Engineer will protect product quality across Sentience software, MQTT device behaviour and connected hardware releases. The role is responsible for test planning, automated checks, device simulation, release verification, deployment support and ensuring that changes do not break existing customer-facing or field-device behaviour.

• Create and maintain test plans for Sentience software and connected device features.
• Build automated tests for backend APIs, database behaviour, front-end workflows and MQTT message handling.
• Create and maintain MQTT device simulators to test common device states and edge cases without always needing physical hardware.
• Test scenarios including device online/offline, heartbeat loss, reconnect behaviour, fault reporting, alarm events, low fluid/service states, tamper conditions and inconsistent device states.
• Support regression testing before releases and maintain a practical smoke-test checklist.
• Help maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated checks and deployment scripts where appropriate.
• Support staging and production deployment processes.
• Monitor logs, errors and release health after deployments.
• Work with developers to reproduce, characterise and verify bugs before and after fixes.

• Help define acceptance criteria for tickets before development starts.
• Support basic security and resilience checks, including authentication, permissions, input validation and common failure modes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Clear written English and willingness to document test evidence and release risk.
• Good analytical thinking and attention to edge cases.
• Experience in software QA, test automation or DevOps support.
• Ability to test APIs, databases and web applications.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Postman/Newman, pytest, Jest or similar.
• Basic SQL skills and the ability to verify database state.
• Understanding of GitHub workflows, pull requests, CI checks and release discipline.
• Ability to write clear bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected result, actual result, logs/screenshots and severity.
• Experience with MQTT testing, IoT systems or device simulation.
• Experience with Docker, Linux servers and deployment pipelines.
• Experience testing multi-tenant web applications.
• Experience with security, alarm, monitoring, field-service, telemetry or industrial systems.
• Experience with load testing, message-volume testing or long-running reliability tests.
• Experience creating release checklists, smoke-test packs and regression suites.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting, server monitoring, log aggregation or uptime monitoring.
• Awareness of OWASP principles and practical application security testing

Pay: Php25,997.36 - Php80,514.02 per month
