About the role

This is a dual opportunity with an Australian accounting firm. You can apply for either an All Rounder Accountant position supporting multiple clients across bookkeeping and compliance, or a Tax Accountant role focused on tax compliance, financial statements, and income tax returns. Both roles offer exposure to diverse clients and industries within a fast-growing, supportive firm.

Key responsibilities

  • End-to-end bookkeeping and all-rounder support for Australian clients
  • Bank reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare BAS/IAS and assist with month-end reporting
  • Work closely with accountants to ensure accurate records
  • Prepare and lodge quarterly BAS for multiple client groups
  • Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, self-managed super funds, and individuals
  • Ensure full compliance with Australian tax legislation and ATO

requirements

  • Utilise Xero Tax and BGL software efficiently and accurately
  • Liaise with clients to gather information, clarify queries, and provide professional guidance
  • Use initiative to problem-solve and streamline client workflows

About you

  • Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally in another accounting firm
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an Australian tax accounting firm
  • Strong skills in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and Xero Tax

Proficiency in BGL and Microsoft Office

  • Comfortable juggling multiple clients and industries
  • Strong understanding of Australian GST, payroll, compliance, income tax, CGT, and SMSF compliance
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • CPA or CA qualified, or currently working towards qualification (preferred)
  • Experience managing budgets or client portfolios (preferred)
  • Prior managerial or team leadership experience (preferred)
