About the role

Our US Partner is an established U.S.-based game development studio seeking a talented Mid-Level Technical Designer to join their Game Design team. They are looking for a creative and technically skilled professional who thrives in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment and enjoys building compelling gameplay experiences. We are seeking a Mid-Level Technical Game Designer to serve as the critical bridge between creative vision and technical execution. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers, artists, and designers to craft gameplay systems, levels, and prototypes using Unity or Unreal Engine, while maintaining high technical standards and clear documentation. The ideal candidate is adaptable, highly technical, solution-oriented, and capable of managing design challenges arising from technical constraints while keeping creative goals intact. This role is expected to become a trusted extension of the client’s game design team, helping shape how players experience their games. This is a full-time role featuring a work from home setup, with scheduling determined collaboratively to best fit team and project needs. If you have the right skill set, this may be your opportunity to enter this fast-growing organization.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and implement gameplay systems, levels, and features using Unity or Unreal Engine. Apply strong game design principles to ensure engaging and technically sound player experiences. Create and iterate on prototypes to explore and validate design concepts. Leverage tools such as Maya and other industry-standard software to support visual and structural design needs. Develop and maintain clear technical documentation communicating design intent, system logic, and implementation guidelines. Share guidelines effectively with cross-functional teams including engineers and artists. Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum framework to plan and deliver design milestones. Participate in sprint cycles and actively contribute to team retrospectives and reviews. Identify and resolve design challenges arising from technical constraints. Revise and adapt designs as needed while preserving creative goals and maintaining alignment with project scope.QUALIFICATIONS:Proven experience as a Technical Designer, Gameplay Designer, or similar role in game development. Hands-on experience designing and implementing gameplay features in Unity or Unreal Engine. Proficiency with 3D modeling and structural design software such as Maya or other industry-standard tools. Strong understanding of game design principles, technical workflows, and system logic. Solid track record of writing clean, detailed technical documentation for cross-functional teams. Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development framework. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
