LEAD, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE

The Occupational Health Nurse Team Lead plays a pivotal leadership role in safeguarding employee health, promoting workplace wellness, and ensuring compliance with occupational health standards within a fast-paced BPO and Shared Services environment. This role oversees the day-to-day delivery of clinical services and guides a team of Occupational Health Nurses in executing proactive and responsive health programs that align with corporate policies, labor regulations, and employee wellbeing goals.

As a frontline clinical and operational leader, the Nurse Team Lead collaborates closely with HR, Safety Officers, external medical providers, and the Occupational Health and Safety Manager to implement strategic health initiatives, manage complex medical cases, and foster a culture of care and safety. The role demands clinical expertise, operational leadership, and a strong commitment to employee advocacy and regulatory compliance.

The Nurse Team Lead is responsible for triaging health concerns, coordinating return-to-work evaluations, supporting mental health and wellness programs, and ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation. This role is onsite based, requiring presence in the workplace to respond to employee health needs, conduct assessments, and ensure the smooth operation of occupational health services. The Nurse Team

Lead contributes significantly to the organization’s health strategy by identifying trends, recommending improvements, and ensuring that health services are accessible, responsive, and aligned with employee productivity and retention goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• MEDICAL DUTIES

•Lead the nursing team in delivering high-quality occupational health services including triage, first aid, and medical assessments.

•Performs initial validation of medical cases related to medical absences and return to work clearance.

•Receives patients for outpatient consultation, performs initial assessment, documentation and refer patients to the Physicians.

•Coordinate with external medical providers (e.g., RCG Health) for referrals, diagnostics, and specialist consultations.

•Provide training on first aid, CPR, and medical emergency response procedures for employees.

• EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND WELLNESS

•Implement and monitor occupational health surveillance programs.

•Develop and implement health promotion programs including communications, promote health literacy and proactive health-seeking behavior among employees.

• Organize wellness events and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners.

•Analyze health trends (e.g., absenteeism, common illnesses, ergonomic complaints) and recommend preventive strategies.

•Coordinates with Onboarding Team on matters related to pre-employment medical clearances of applicants.

•Collaborate with HR, Safety Officers, and Wellness Coordinators to align health services with broader wellness and safety programs.

• ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

•Supervise daily operations of the nursing staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

•Schedule and manage nurse shifts to ensure coverage across all operational hours and business units and assume the duties and responsibilities of the nurse in cases of personnel shortage.

•Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and competency assessments for nursing staff.

•Ensure timely and proper documentation related to workplace incidents, medical evaluations, wellness participation and follow-up of employee health cases.

•Maintains clinical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and operational functionality.

•Manages the requisition, safekeeping, and maintenance of inventory for medicines, supplies and equipment.

•Maintains an updated database of all clinical services activities and ensures storage in accordance with data privacy law and company policies.

•Provides a monthly report on census on outpatient consultation & emergency medical services, supplies and materials consumption report and clinic morbidity report.

•Enforce occupational health protocols, infection control measures, and emergency medical response procedures.

•Represent the nursing team in cross-functional meetings and wellness planning sessions.

•Participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations related to employee health and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

•Minimum of 5 years of experience in an occupational health setting and 2 years in leading teams.

•Attained professional certification and holds a current valid license to practice.

•Completed the required Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training.

•Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified.

•Proficient in MS applications.

•Willingness to work on shifts, onsite.
