Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Palayan, responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate, compliant accounting practices. This role includes managing general ledger entries, preparing and reviewing financial statements, monitoring budgets, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. The Senior Accountant will handle accounts payable and receivable oversight, bank reconciliations, and tax and regulatory reporting, while implementing internal controls and improving financial procedures. The role involves collaborating with management to provide financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting that supports strategic decision-making. The Senior Accountant will also guide junior accounting staff, coordinate with external auditors, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and reconciliation activities.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support management reporting and decision-making.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with solid skills in spreadsheet and data management tools.
- Knowledge of applicable tax laws, compliance requirements, and internal control frameworks in an educational or service-based environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in complex financial contexts.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and guiding junior staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA or equivalent) is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role, ideally within education or a similar sector.
- Ability to work on-site in Palayan and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
