About the role

The Assistant Vice President – Legal & Human Resources is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of the Company's Legal and Human Resources functions. The position ensures effective legal risk management, regulatory compliance, employee relations, talent management, and the development and implementation of HR policies and programs aligned with the Company's business objectives. The AVP – Legal & HR serves as a strategic business partner to Senior Management and the Company's business units, providing sound legal advice, people management strategies, and governance support to promote organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and sustainable business growth.

Key responsibilities

Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to Senior Management and business units on corporate, commercial, employment, labor, and regulatory matters. Oversee the review, drafting, and negotiation of contracts, agreements, memoranda, policies, and other legal documents. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements. Manage legal risks and provide recommendations on potential liabilities, disputes, and business transactions. Oversee labor and employment-related cases, administrative proceedings, and coordination with external legal counsel, as necessary. Review and recommend appropriate actions on employee disciplinary cases, terminations, labor disputes, and other employee relations matters. Provide guidance on legal requirements affecting HR policies, compensation, benefits, and employment practices. Ensure proper maintenance and management of legal records, contracts, and corporate documentation. Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs aligned with the Company's business plans and organizational objectives. Oversee manpower planning, succession planning, talent management, and workforce optimization across the Company and its business units.

About you

Bachelor's degree in law, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field. At least 10-15 years of relevant professional experience in Legal, HR, Labor Relations, or a combination thereof. Strong legal research, contract review, negotiation and risk assessment skills. Experience in a corporate environment, preferably within a group of companies or diversified organization. Strong experience in labor and employment law, employee relations, HR policies and organizational development. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 applications.
