HR Officer

Valuehome Furniture Trading is seeking a dedicated HR Officer to join our Human Resources team in Davao City, Davao del Sur. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our organizational operations and employee management. As an HR Officer, you will serve as a key bridge between management and staff, ensuring that our company maintains strong human resources practices, compliance with employment regulations, and a positive workplace culture. This role is essential to our continued growth and success, providing strategic support to both operational departments and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

Assisting with recruitment and onboarding processes, including advertising vacancies, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and preparing documentation for new employees

Managing employee records and maintaining accurate HR databases and filing systems in compliance with data protection regulations

Supporting the administration of payroll, benefits, and leave management processes. Coordinating employee training and development programmes to support staff growth and skill enhancement. Assisting with performance management activities, including appraisal scheduling and documentation. Responding to employee queries and concerns regarding HR policies, procedures, and entitlements. Supporting compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Contributing to the development and implementation of HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement and retention. Assisting with the organization of employee events, team-building activities, and workplace wellness programmes. Providing administrative support to the HR department and senior management as required.

What we're looking for

• A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (such as an HR diploma or degree)
• Proven experience working in an HR or administrative role, ideally in a retail, furniture, or customer-facing industry
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices applicable to the Philippines
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HR management systems or databases
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment whilst also managing tasks independently
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation
• Familiarity with payroll, benefits administration, or recruitment processes is advantageous
